Whether you're filling reusable water bottles, preparing meals, brewing coffee, or serving multiple family members, the Royal Berkey® helps reduce the frequency of refills while providing convenient access to filtered drinking water.

Constructed from highly polished AISI 304 stainless steel, the Royal Berkey® combines capacity, durability, and gravity-fed operation in a countertop system that requires no electricity or plumbing.

Expandable toUp to 4 primary elements

Designed for Higher Daily Water Usage

The Royal Berkey® comfortably serves 2–4 people for everyday household use while offering more storage capacity than the Big Berkey®.

  • Fewer refills throughout the day
  • More filtered water available for cooking and beverages
  • Well suited to active households
  • Convenient when serving guests
  • One gallon more capacity than the Big Berkey® while remaining 9.5 inches in diameter

For households that like the overall size and filter configuration of the Big Berkey® but want more water stored between refills, the Royal Berkey® offers a practical step up.

How the Royal Berkey® Works

The Royal Berkey® uses gravity to move water from the upper chamber through the installed primary filter elements and into the lower chamber. Fill the upper chamber, allow gravity to do the work, and dispense filtered water from the spigot below.

Included Black Berkey® Elements

Each current Royal Berkey® configuration includes 2 Black Berkey® Elements and can accommodate up to four primary elements.

Independent Black Berkey® laboratory documentation reports reduction performance for a range of drinking-water substances, including selected heavy metals, chlorine-related compounds, VOCs, pharmaceuticals, petroleum-related compounds, particulates, and other substances under the documented test conditions.

Because Black Berkey® Elements are not designed as a reverse-osmosis or demineralization system, ordinary dissolved minerals such as calcium and magnesium generally remain in the water.

A pair of Black Berkey® Elements has a manufacturer-recommended replacement interval of up to approximately 6,000 gallons under stated conditions. Actual service life may be shorter depending on source water quality and use.

Replacement-filter note: This Royal Berkey® configuration currently includes Black Berkey® Elements. When replacement elements are eventually needed, review the replacement options available at that time. Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ Filter Elements are currently compatible with the Royal Berkey® and are the primary replacement option available through normal authorized U.S. distribution.

Optional PF-2™ Fluoride & Arsenic Reduction Elements can be installed in the lower chamber when used with compatible primary elements. Use one PF-2 for each installed compatible primary element, up to four on the Royal Berkey®.

When replacement filters are needed, visit our Replacement Filters Guide for current compatibility information.

Truly the best

For years we have been using other water filtration products. We were always disappointed. One by one our friends switched to a Berkey. They let us know how very please they were with this system. Our friends were not wrong. We finally purchased our own Berkey and love it. It truly is the best.

Had to buy it Colorado

I have been waiting years to buy this. But it is not available in California. I am in Aspen for a consulting job and I took advantage to order it here and take it back home. I couldn't be happier I am a Chef and will be using this for all my home recipes and breads. The water tasted very good.

Much Better

We’ve been faithful fans of the Big Berkey for many years. We use it to filter our well water for drinking and cooking. I was having a lot of trouble getting replacement filters and was looking through the different websites. I realized that I could upgrade to the Royal Berkey and it came with filters. It was a no brainer because I was always filling the Big Berkey. With myself, my husband and dog, we use a lot of water. We love the larger volume and it still fits in the same spot.

What a Difference!

We love our Berkey! The difference in the taste of the water is noticeable. Our German Shepherd (very fussy about her water, lol), loves it too! The only issue we had was that we purchased the stainless steel faucet with water level viewing and the first one had to be sent back to the manufacturer. The person that helped was wonderful and their initial solution was that we just take our Berkey apart and wait for the replacement item. Because the part has to go to the manufacturer we were unable just to order a new one and have them credit our card. Instead, we ordered an interim faucet from someplace else, which worked well while we waited for the replacement item.

3.25 Royal Berkey Review

We LOVE our Berkey! We had some minor growing pains with setup, but now that it's running well, we're very happy! We watched some YouTube tutorials to redo our set up, but then our Berkey started working perfectly without doing anything.

Years later, even now still very happy

We have had our Royal Berkey now for several years, and have bought additional Carbon and Flouride/Arsenic filters over time as required. The whole family enjoy the water and we use it for all our cooking and watering the plants as well. We are a health conscious family and the Berkey system has been one of the best health investments we have ever made. It sits on its stand in the kitchen and so we never go for tap (town) water. Every home should have one of these! 5 Stars!
