Made from highly polished AISI 304 stainless steel, the Imperial Berkey is built to withstand the test of time. It comes standard with two Black Berkey® purification elements, expandable to six for greater capacity. With 2 filters, it produces up to 5.5 gallons (20.8 L) per hour, and when fully equipped with 6 filters, output increases to 16.5 gallons (62.5 L) per hour—enough to serve 200–400 people per day in emergencies.

The Black Berkey filters are lab-tested to remove or significantly reduce over 200 contaminants, including trihalomethanes, inorganic minerals, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, VOCs, petroleum products, perfluorinated chemicals, rust, silt, sediment, radiologicals, and more. Each pair of filters lasts up to 6,000 gallons, offering long-term reliability and cost savings.

We love our Berkey. My 11 year old was able to assemble it for us. We love how good the water tastes and it's better for the environment than all those water bottles people think they need to buy for clean water.

Blemished model has no effect on function.

Relatively easy to set up and get working. Don't drink the first container of filtered water. Probably ok but tastes...off. Water produced by this unit has a clean, polished taste. We're using water out of the tap with lots of chlorine in it and there is no chlorine taste or smell in purified water.
We have the 4.5 gal system using 4 black filters, so it produces water quickly. The only complaint is that it states it will hold 4.5 gal but 3.5 gal fills it up, so maybe they sent us the wrong unit. The rating is for purification function. Would give one star less for the capacity discrepancy, but what the heck.

Exactly what I needed.

Berkey was recommended to me by my daughter. I was filling my 2 qt filtered pitcher 4 to 5 times a day. Love the Berkey but wish it had a viewing window to prevent overfilling.

Excellent product and even if blemished

This Berkey water filter is in no way functionally different from unblemished filters. Operations is the same and warranty is the same. Cost is spot on for the product received.

I purchased this Berkey water filter for emergencies. It doesn't get much use right now, but when the power goes out and the water pump doesn't work then my shallow dug well and the Berkey filter will be worth it's weight in gold.

We love our Berkey!!!

We use this for our well water. We have a whole house filter with a softener, but with the berkey, we are able to filter out everything and the water tastes great. My only complaint is that we do not know when we will hit the 6000 gallon point with our filters. There is no way of knowing this unless you keep count of how many times you refill. Still also wondering if it chelates silver in the water, but cannot seem to get an answer on that.

Have had under sink reverse osmosis systems and have had home delivery of 5 gal bottles through a water supplier neither of which met my expectations for purity. The Berkey puts water back in your control. Excellent tasting and excellent purity. Easy to use.

Sweet water.

We have good well water but concerned we might get some pollution, we bought the filter to make sure we were drinking good water. Love the filtered water. Two of us in the home most of the time and we got the 4.5 gallon filter, I would recommend this size as we are drinking more water and it needs to be filled frequently. For a family go bigger.
