Berkey Light® Water Filter System – Lightweight Gravity-Fed Filtration
The Berkey Light® Water Filter System is a lightweight, gravity-fed countertop water filter designed for everyday household use. With a 2.75-gallon capacity and a transparent body, it offers many of the benefits of larger Berkey® systems while making it easy to monitor water levels throughout the day.
Constructed from durable non-BPA/BPS co-polyester, the Berkey Light® provides a lighter alternative to stainless steel Berkey® systems while maintaining the convenience of gravity-fed operation.
The system comes standard with 2 Black Berkey® Elements and can be expanded to 4 elements for increased filtration capacity and flow rate.

How the Berkey Light® Works
The Berkey Light® uses gravity to draw water through Black Berkey® Elements installed in the upper chamber. Filtered water collects in the lower chamber and is dispensed through the included spigot.
No electricity, plumbing, water pressure, or permanent installation is required.
The transparent chambers allow you to easily monitor both upper and lower water levels without removing the lid.
About the Black Berkey® Elements
The Berkey Light® comes standard with two Black Berkey® Elements and can be expanded to four elements.
Black Berkey® Elements are designed to reduce a broad range of potential contaminants commonly found in drinking water supplies, including:
- Lead and mercury
- Chlorine and chloramines
- Trihalomethanes (THMs)
- VOCs
- Petroleum-related compounds
- Pharmaceutical residues
- Rust, sediment, and particulates
- Radiological contaminants
The elements are also designed to retain beneficial minerals such as calcium and magnesium.
Each Black Berkey® Element is rated for approximately 3,000 gallons of filtration. Two installed elements provide approximately 6,000 gallons before replacement is recommended.

Care & Maintenance
- Prime Black Berkey® Elements before first use.
- Clean elements when the flow noticeably decreases.
- Do not use soap or cleaning chemicals on the filter elements.
- Follow setup, cleaning, storage, and maintenance instructions.
- Do not use Black Berkey® Elements with salt-based softened water.
