The Crown Berkey® Water Filter System is the largest stainless steel system in the Berkey® lineup. With a 6-gallon capacity, it is designed for larger households, offices, shared spaces, and group-use settings that need more filtered drinking water available throughout the day.
This countertop gravity-fed water filter system offers maximum Berkey® capacity while maintaining simple operation without electricity, plumbing, or water pressure.
Made from highly polished AISI 304 stainless steel, the Crown Berkey® features large upper and lower chambers, durable construction, and an expandable design that supports up to 8 Black Berkey® Elements.

The upper chamber nests inside the lower chamber for easier storage and transport when empty, reducing the system height to approximately 20 inches.
How the Crown Berkey® Works
The Crown Berkey® uses gravity to draw water through Black Berkey® Elements installed in the upper chamber. Filtered water collects in the lower chamber and is dispensed through the spigot.
Simply fill the upper chamber, allow gravity to do the work, and dispense filtered water as needed.
Black Berkey® Elements
The Crown Berkey® comes standard with 2 Black Berkey® Elements and can be expanded to hold up to 8 elements.
Black Berkey® Elements are designed to reduce a broad range of potential contaminants commonly found in drinking water supplies, including:
- Lead and mercury
- Chlorine and chloramines
- VOCs
- Trihalomethanes (THMs)
- Pharmaceutical residues
- Petroleum-related compounds
- Rust, sediment, and particulates
- Radiological contaminants
The elements are also designed to retain beneficial minerals such as calcium and magnesium.
Each Black Berkey® Element is rated for approximately 3,000 gallons of filtration. With two elements installed, replacement is generally recommended after approximately 6,000 gallons of use.

Flow rate is calculated with the upper chamber full and naturally decreases as the water level drops. Actual flow can vary depending on fill level, element condition, water quality, priming, and maintenance.

Care & Maintenance
- Prime Black Berkey® Elements before first use.
- Use cold or room-temperature water only.
- Do not use with salt water.
- Do not use with salt-based softened water, as this may shorten element life and affect warranty coverage.
- Clean stainless steel chambers periodically with mild soap and water.
- Monitor flow rate and clean elements as needed.
- Replace elements when the recommended gallon rating is reached or when performance indicates replacement is needed.
The Berkey® stainless steel chambers are assembled in the USA from U.S. and imported parts. Black Berkey® Elements are made and assembled in the USA.
