The Sport Berkey® Water Filter Bottle is a compact 22 oz portable water filter designed for everyday use at work, school, the gym, while traveling, and on the go.
The bottle is made from non-leaching, BPA-free LDPE #4 medical-grade polymer and uses a replaceable internal filter made from a proprietary blend of media. Berkey states that the Sport Berkey® uses the same filtration formulation as Black Berkey® Elements used in its gravity-fed systems.

The Sport Berkey® places the filter directly inside the bottle, making it a convenient option when you want personal filtration without carrying a countertop system.
Filtration Performance
According to current Berkey manufacturer information, the Sport Berkey® filter has been tested by multiple independent third-party laboratories for its ability to reduce a broad range of substances found in water. Test results showed up to 99.9% reduction for typical contaminant categories such as:

When unused and properly stored, the Sport Berkey® bottle and filter have a stated shelf life of up to 50 years.

How to Prepare the Sport Berkey® for First Use
The filter should be flushed before drinking from the bottle to clear excess carbon from the manufacturing process.
- Pull the lid closure down so the straw is exposed.
- Fill the bottle with water.
- Squeeze the bottle for 3–4 seconds to flush water through the filter and straw.
- Repeat until the water runs clear.
- The bottle is then ready to use.
How to Use the Bottle
- Fill the Sport Berkey® bottle with water.
- Screw on the lid and tighten securely.
- Pull the lid closure down to expose the straw.
- Squeeze the bottle, draw water through the straw, or use both actions together.
- Pull the lid closure up after use to help prevent drips or leaks while carrying.
Filter Replacement
Replace the Sport Berkey® filter after approximately 640 refills of municipal water, or sooner if source-water conditions or reduced flow indicate that replacement is needed.
- Unscrew the lid from the bottle.
- Pull the existing filter from the straw.
- Push the replacement filter securely onto the straw.
- Flush the new filter before use.

Cleaning, Storage & Precautions
- Periodically remove the filter and clean the bottle and straw with warm water and mild, unscented dish soap.
- Do not place the bottle or filter in a dishwasher or microwave oven.
- Do not run hot water through the filter.
- Do not allow the filter to freeze.
- To help prevent leaks, do not store a filled bottle on its side or upside down.
- For extended storage, remove the filter from the straw, allow it to air-dry, and reinstall it after it is dry.
